Der riesige Sandstein hat den Weg vom Steinbruch Udelfangen /Trier in mein Atelier in der Braunschweiger Taubenstrasse vor einigen Monaten schadlos überstanden-Dank der Meisterleistung mehrere Spezialtransportunternehmens.Seitdem bearbeite ich den Stein 7 Tage die Woche,begleitet von Wagner-Musik und unter einem Bildnis von "Märchenkönig"Ludwig 2,der Neuschwanstein 1869 errichten ließ.Wie den bayrischen König in seiner Zeit halten auch mich einige für einen Träumer -aber Schloß Neuschwanstein steht,die Skulptur wird es auch-spätestens in vier Jahren zur Grundsteinlegung des weltbekannten Märchenschlosses,nämlich zum 150.Jahrestages von Schloß Neuschwanstein. Daran setze ich momentan meine ganze Kraft.Meine Fortschritte sind täglich via Facebook unter "Kunst trifft Soziales" per Video und Fotos zu sehn.

Ich werde mein ganzes handwerkliches und künstlerisches Können aufbringen,um das Schloß detailgetreu abzubilden -und das ist mein Anspruch ! Dazu habe ich vergangenes Jahr mehrmals Neuschwanstein besucht,Details fotografiert,alte Dokumente im Archiv eingesehen und mit Fachleuten vor Ort gesprochen,die von der Idee begeistert sind.

Das Schloß wird ein harmonisches Kunstobjekt in Sandstein-materialgerecht im Einklang der Landschaft und dem Bauwerk.Das Schloß Neuschwanstein in seiner komplexen Filigranität wird mit der umliegenden Natur als Herbststimmung wiedergegeben.Die Begrünung wird aus farbenprächtigen Edelsteinen entstehen,das Dach soll mit Kupfer überzogen werden,die Turmspitzen aus Bronze.Die fertige Skulptur wird ca.6 Tonnen wiegen,die Maße sind dann 2.80×1.20×1.80 (l×b×h). Obwohl der Wert der einmaligen Skulptur bei mindestens 1.5 Millionen Euro liegen soll,gibt es schon Interessenten aus aller Welt.Egal ob die Skulptur nach Fertigstellung in die Emirate,die USA oder Japan geht,1/3 der Einnahmen wird dann in Deutschland bleiben -und für z.b. bedürftige Kinder eingesetzt.Also für Menschen in Not.

"The Neuschwanstein Project"

I would briefly like to introduce my project and myself to you. My name is Thomas Doneis. I am a very committed artist by passion. The media calls my project a foolhardy undertaking. For me it is the biggest challenge in my career, as it connects my artistic talent and my social commitment.
My goal is to form a huge sculpture by carving the world famous castle Neuschwanstein out of a 21 ton heavy sandstone, Additionally to this unique project, I hope to collect more than half a million euros to help people in need.

The huge sandstone has made its way from the stone quarry Udefangen/Trier to my studio in Taubenstraße Braunschweig without any damages some months ago, thanks to some special transport companies. Since then I have been working on the stone seven days a week, listening to music by Richard Wagner and under the painting of the “Märchenkönig Ludwig II who had Neuschwanstein erected in 1869. Likewise with the King of Bavaria, a lot of people think I am a dreamer, but Neuschwanstein has become reality and so will my sculpture - latest in four years at the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the castle. To reach this goal, I devote my whole energy to it at the moment. My progress can be watched daily at Facebook, under >Kunst trifft Soziales< (art meets social affairs), in pictures and videos.

I will use my entire artisan and manual craftsmanship to create this castle accurately in every detail and to meet my own requirements. For this reason I visited Neuschwanstein several times last year, took photos of old documents in the archive and talked with experts on-site who were very enthusiastic about my idea.

The castle will be a harmonic piece of art in line with the landscape and the building. The Castle Neuschwanstein in all its complex filigree appearance will be depicted with the surrounding nature in autumn mood. The greening will be designed with colourful emeralds, the roof will get a copper cover and the spires will be made out of bronze. The completed sculpture will have a weight of about 6 tons, and the size of 2.80×1.20×1.80 (length, width, height). Although the sculpture is estimated to have a value of 1.5 million Euro, people from all over the world have already shown interest. No matter whether this sculpture will be sold to the Emirates, USA or Japan, one third of the revenue will be kept in Germany and spend for charity, e.g. children in need.
